Facebook announced it is rolling out a set of new tools aimed at helping advertisers create enticing ads tailor-made for mobile devices. These video creation tools will take still image ads and transform them into mobile-first video ads within seconds. The process involves converting existing images and text assets and incorporating them into a video add that is optimized for either the Facebook feed, Facebook stories, or Instagram.

There are four new templates in Facebook’s Ads Manager, and they are designed for the following business objectives:

  • Promoting your product/service — you can now have a 6-second ad focusing on a key product or service from your portfolio aiming to generate interest and sales.
  • Selling multiple products — within a 6-second ad you can display a selection of your finest products, services, special offers, upcoming events, and more.
  • Displaying product benefits — with the 15-second ad option, you can highlight product features or explain how a product works.
  • Driving product discovery — through a 15-second ad, you can bring your brand to life and share what makes your product offering unique.

If you already have existing video ads, Facebook’s new tools will help you better optimize them for mobile devices:

  • Video cropping tool — Optimize the framing of your video ads. Using this tool enables you to crop videos to Facebook’s recommended aspect ratios.
  • Simple video creation tools — you can make templated videos directly from a business page using photos and company logos.

Facebook also offers a done-for-you option that requires no effort on your part. When boosting a certain post, you can simply select the “animate” option, and it will automatically turn it into a video. Simple as that!
